tftp Write files

I know this should be a piece of cake
but I got stuck.
I'm are about to set up a tftp server that we will use to back up Cisco
routers on
I'm running Solaris 8 on the box
SunOS somebox 5.8 Generic_108528-10 sun4u sparc SUNW,Ultra-5_10
in inetd.conf I got
tftp dgram udp wait root /usr/sbin/in.tftpd in.tftpd -s
/tftpboot
and in services
tftp 69/udp
the /tftpboot dir has this settingd
drwxrwxrwx 2 root other 512 Jan 18 16:19 tftpboot
reading from it it's no problem at all
but write to it is problem even if I have
predefind files that are chmod 777
I get
root at somebox # tftp localhost
tftp> put onerouter-confg
Transfer timed out.
tftp>
the boxes are on the same net and are in the arptables
Any Suggestions ?
