A1000 Serial Number Reset

As always, here is yet another bizarre issue that we have come up with.
<GRIN>
Have an A1000 with a serial number containing all zeros ( 0000000000 ) the
controller itself is accepting all functionality, including firmware upgrades,
and lun creation.
We have tried the following:
Reset the configuration
Pulled on board NVRAM Battery
Pulled external battery
Let machine sit with no power for 10 minutes
We can still do everything to the machine that is needed, except for the
serial number.
Does anyone know how to set this? I have the original serial, and will be
re-installing it if we can figure it out.....
