some concepts!

solaris... I have some questions I want to debate with you.. You don't have
to answer me if you want, I just need some links to start understanding the
core of solaris, these are my questions:
1. I see for example, "Solaris 8 beginning with release HW 07/03".. what is
the meaning of HW 07/03? Are there some versions of solaris 8? Or it is only
ONE solaris 8 plus latest patch cluster?
2. If I install solaris 8 from CD and then install the latest patch cluster
from the site, What vesion of solaris I have?.... version 8? ..Or vesion 8
and HW xx/xx?
3. About the package manager of solaris: Where can I find a definitive
tutorial, guide about this? I want to uninstall a lot of packages an I don't
know how... do you have some links?
4. In the case of SPARC, the open-boot commands are always the same in any
kind of BIOS hardware?
These are the most important questios for the time being..
