SUMMARY: cannot boot from dvd on Ultra-60

2007-12-25 5:40:00

The correct answer came from dersmythe at fastmail.fm and some others who said:
U60 only spec'ed for Options X6168A =
Toshiba SD-M1401 (<= 390-0025-02)
Toshiba SD-M1711 (>= 390-0025-03)

M1401 must have patch 111649 to run on Solaris.

I installed Solaris 8 from CD, then was able to run the application in patch
111649-04 to reflash my M1401 (Sun part 190-0025-01) drive from revision
1007 to 1009. Once that completed, I was able to boot Solaris 9 from DVD.

Thanks to all,
Ric
