NIS and ypservers
2007-12-24 19:25:00
NIS yp slave: Solaris 2.5.1
NIS yp clients: Solaris 2.6, 2.7
Question:
Referring to the master and slave hosts only:
---------------------------------------------
If I have 2 ypservers (1 master and 1 slave), should the
file /var/yp/binding/`domainname`/ypservers contain the
names of both master and slave?
Question:
---------
When I reboot the master (which is bound to itself)
and I have the name of the slave (and master) in the ypservers file,
would there be a problem with the master binding to the slave
as it came up from the boot?
Notes:
------
1) All clients have both server names in the ypserver file.
2) I find many references to the ypservers file, but not to
the answer to this question of the ypservers contents on
the servers themselves. Clients yes, servers no info.
Thanks,
Jeff
