Showrev -p displays no patches .. Returns errors

Why do I get this error?
<athena.yodlee.com> # /usr/bin/showrev -p
/usr/bin/showrev: get_env_var(L.tar, SUNW_PATCHID)
I checked the libraries linked to this file with another similary SUN
arch and they look the same. File size in both the systems are same.
Please help
