Question about extending Veritas support

been paying support for 2 nodes, but added a 3rd node last year and wanted
to extend support to it.
Veritas wants us to pay support for all the time we haven't been paying
support for (plus 25% i think), which I find totally ridiculous,
especially since we've been paying support for everything else we had with
them.
Can someone tell me if they've been in a similar situation, and how they
worked it out.
We are in NYC area.
