routed problem

Hi Sun Managers,

ORIGINAL QUESTION :

I wanted to stop routed deamon running at

start up.

In which rc file it resides ?

Is only commenting that part out from

rc file enough ?

I'm running :

stocks@congo% uname -a

SunOS congo.lanka.com 5.5.1 Generic sun4m sparc SUNW,SPARCstation-4

SUMMARY :

/etc/rc2.d/S69inet

(2 entries one for receiving and other is to supply routing table)

but without editing this file there is an easy way out.

The script that runs in.routed only runs routed if the file

/etc/defaultrouter does NOT exist. This /etc/defaultrouter file should contain one line of text, that text being the IP address of your default router for your network

{

According to jason.axley@attws.com

Actually, if

you just stop routed, your network routes on your sun box will be

screwed up.

}

I you have 2 network cards or 2 ip addr for the same m/c and you donot

want your machine to act as router, touch /etc/notrouter.

Regds.
