MAIL ENV Issue

Hello, Gurus,

I downloaded Openssh3.0.9p1 from sunfreeware.com and installed. Of
course, I also installed the necessary packages such as openssl, prng, ...
With the default settings, it seems that sshd works fine except that the
MAIL environment variable is not set up correctly. It was set up as
/var/mail//$USER instead of the correct one /var/mail/$USER. I just used
the default settings in my Solaris 8 systems. There is no such problem
with any other shells such as sh, csh or tcsh ...

To fix that problem, I had to set up the MAIL environment by myself.

My question is: Does anyone else out there have similar problem with
openssh? Or I did not set it up correctly? Why didn't openssh pick up the
default variable MAIL from the Solaris 8 system?

Thanks for any reply.

Steven Xiao
