mail server adddress...

Hi Gurus,
I know it must be something very stupid, but I can't figure it out.
We are using qmail as our email server (mailhost), and each time one of
the Solaris 9 workstations send and email from the command line (or
emacs) the email goes out like <userid>@mailhost.<domain> what do I need
to change to force it to send the email <userid>@<domain> ?
