PARTIAL disabling ports

2007-12-25 10:40:00

Thanks to all who responded. The responders said to cooment out the services

in /etc/inetd.conf. This will work for the services that inetd controls.

But, after running lsof -i, there are a lot of users running applications

like perl that have open ports in the port 7000-8000 range. I didn't know if

there is a way to disable ports in a specific range. If any one knows how,

if possible, please let me know and i will sumamrize.

thanks for all the help!
