DiskSuite unmirroring root disk snafu

2007-12-24 21:16:00

Solaris 8, DiskSuite 4.2.1

Followed documented procedures to unmirror all the other filesystems, went
perfectly. Tried it on root, using the metaroot command specifying the
device of the formerly mirrored root filesystem. Rebooted and it won't
mount read-write. Error message is:

mount: /dev/dsk/c0t1d0s0 is not this fstype.

This is pretty vague. vfstab file looks as how I want it to be, pointing
to correct device with ufs filesystem type. The other half of the root
mirror is mountable in single-user, but I have the same trouble when
trying to boot from that disk too. I tried taking out the lines from
/etc/system but that didn't help. Clues appreciated, I need to have this
thing back up tonight if possible. The Solaris CD is not readily
available... :-(
