RPC TLI Error

Howdy..
I've got a E3500 w/ 1GB of RAM and a A3500 array attached running
Solaris 8 10/00.
We have an RPC "process" (for lack of a better term) that we use in
conjunction with some of our software development activities. The
clients send their releases through the RPC on the server in order to
release it.
Of late, without any changes to the inetd.conf, services, or any
other change for that matter on the server or software, the server has
been reporting the following problem when attempting to use this
particular RPC service:
Cannot create client to <host>: RPC: Miscellaneous tli error - An event
requires attention.
what's more, it appears that this error happens "every other time".
So the first connect works, the next one doesn't -- after a period of
time, the cycle starts over.
Any suggestions?
