UDF Read/Write support

Any info appreciated.
Does Solaris 8 support concurrent reading and writing to a UDF filesystem (a
CD-RW or a DVD-RAM / RW / RW+ ) ? Like Adaptec's Direct-CD? Wherein you read
and write to the disk as if it's a regular hard-drive filesystem without
first erasing everything before you can write again?
Is a 3rd-party software necessary for this or is it built-into Solaris?
