Summary: Console error message

The problem was the permission on /etc/mail it did not have write for
the owner.I should have check the permission on the directories also.

I have just set up a new Sun-Fire-280R with Solaris 8 on it. I keep
getting this error come across the screen

Aug 1 15:22:19 bert sendmail[330]: g6SDG9600860: SYSERR(root): dbm map
"Alias0": unsafe map file /etc/mail/aliases: Permission denied

Does anyone know what the problem may be? Below is the permission of the

file

-rw-r--r-- 1 root bin 1201 Jul 25 11:32 /etc/mail/aliases
