A very long time to retreive a file

Is it normal to spent more than 3 hours ( and it's not finished yet) to
retrieve just one file from a fully DLT tape. It's too strange.
here is what I made:
ufsrestore if /dev/rmt/1n
ufsretore> cd <path_needed>
ufsrestore> add file
ufsretore> extract
Specify next volume # 1
Is it normal to spent such a long time or something is wrong. It happens
to mo very often , should apply any patch ....
