Serial patch on solaris 8 ?

I have problems configuring a spaceball 3Dconnexion on solaris 2.8/SB2000.
The application software seems that do not read on serial port a or b.
I have also tried on solaris 2.7 and 2.9 and in these cases it works.
So I suppose I miss a patch.
I searched on sunsolve and I didn't find it.
I can't use 2.9 because of old application that are not certified on 2.9 .
Anybody can help me ?
