UPDATE: Crontab file syntax checker?

In our setup, (Veritas Cluster Server) to make a change to that user's crontab
file, I have to edit a file that lives on the shared storage of the cluster.
VCS is constantly comparing the real crontab file
(/var/spool/cron/crontabs/user) to the VCS crontab file. If it detects a
change, it will copy the changes from the VCS crontab file into the real,
running crontab.
So I'm looking for some kind of utility to look thru a file and make sure its
acceptable to be a crontab file.
