problem jumpstarting v240s connected via fiber to Catalyst 4003

it will start to go through the boot process and then the catalyst will
disconnect the port. It does not disable on errors or anything like that, it
just becomes disconnected. I have tried turning off udld and it still
doesn't work. The ports on the catalyst are in 1000fx. I am wondering if
anyone has come across this problem before. My CatOS ver is:

The sun boxes are brand new Sunfire v240s
The only way I can get around the problem is to physically disconnect the
fiber and reconnect it, and then try to jumpstart it again and then it just
fails right away again.
