DNLC Cache Sizes

I'm sure this has been done to death, but please bear with me..

We've got a Sun 4800 with 4GB of physical memory on Solaris 8 and it's cache
hit rate is very low (i.e. less than 50%). As we need to submit a change
request to modify the settings, I need to come up with an intelligent estimate
as to what it needs to be set to, rather than just saying double it or
whatever.
