problem running gated in solaris 8

I am trying to run gated in solaris 8, I become root and stopped routed
which is the one I have been running so far, copied the gated.conf to /etc
with just one line in it
rip yes;
then I flushed the routing table by issueing
# route -f
then I issue
# gated -f /etc/gated.conf /tmp/gdump
to start gated, but it imediately abort with the info in the tracefile like
this:

Does anyone have idea what is happending, I tried to search the solution from
the web but did not succeed.
