Subject: RES: Solaris 7 and alterante pathing

Hi,

Here is the summary about my prefious question.

Thanx to Daniel Barrella

     Hello,

     1) Yes, it is.

     2) I would recommend the newest version (AP 2.3)

     3) Yes, it is. You can download it directly fom Sun (www.sun.com)

By the way, AP does not detect NIC/link failures automatically.

You have to manually switch the interfaces upon a NIC failure, or try

to implement a detection mechanism which triggers the switching program.

I did not find a good solution for this issue yet. Any suggestion?

Daniel

QUESTION WAS :

Hi,

Sorry to disturb you . I have following question for you.

We have solaris 7 and would like to implement AP ( altnernate pathing )

through

two fibrechannel JNI-cards ( PCI ) .

My question(s) are :

1) Is this possible technicalally on a 250 with JNI cards

2) Which software does I need ( I think it could be AP 2.1 , but I am

not sure

)

3) Is it free with solaris 7 ? , in solaris 8 I think it is on the

distribution)

Thanx

Pierre Demuynck
