UPDATE: Rebuilding NIS Map on server

resolved it, I made a silly mistake with entry in the group file.
It had an additional space after the last user name.

Did you run a yp make? You need to do that everytime you update your nis
maps.
: - > cd /var/yp
: - > sudo make
(note I use sudo to run commands as root when you run the make you should
be logged in as root or using something like sudo to run commands as
root).
Doing this will nicely re-build your maps without an interruption on
service.
