Problem With "/var" in Solaris 2.6

2007-12-25 11:56:00

I got a lot of responses to this one, but it turned out that I wasn't as

stupid as I thought I was; I had saved the vfstab created by the 2.6 upgrade,

so I got /var to mount without complaining.

The response I got from Ron Spillane was typical:

>Your entry for /var should look like this

>/dev/dsk/c0t2d0s1 /dev/rdsk/c0t2d0s1 /var ufs 1 no -

>When booting Solaris automatically mounts /, /usr & /var before it tries to

>mount any other partition including /opt.

Thanks to all who replied.
