How to activate 'sar' logging?

The answer is:

su as sys and uncomment the 3 lines in crontab.

Check out man sa1 which will tell you to modify /etc/init.d/perf.

vobber% crontab -l

#ident "@(#)sys 1.5 92/07/14 SMI" /* SVr4.0 1.2 */

# 0 * * * 0-6 /usr/lib/sa/sa1
