DNS server no longer works

Dear managers,

I just tried to restart the DNS server on one of our Solaris 9 boxes.

/etc/init.d/inetsvc stop

worked, but

/etc/init.d/inetsvc start

never returns and "ps -Af | grep named" gives me nothing. The DNS
configuration used to work. I haven't changed anything. In
/var/adm/messages I get nothing. Any ideas?
