rdist error messages

2007-12-25 10:24:00

hi

the original question concerned this error message from rdist:

> bear: LOCAL ERROR: Unexpected input from server: "rdistd: Command not

found.".

the problem was that /usr/ucb/rdist had been replaced on the server only with

what appears to be USC's public domain rdist.

the full text of the original question is attached.
