Hi There,

I do have a Ultra 2 running Solaris 2.6 that i will be connecting the

serial

port to a

Portmaster Terminal Server

I would like to verify how to configure the system so that it does not

look

for A Keyboard

and Monitor during boot.

Do i use the "setenv" or the "eeprom" command ?

What values do i change ?

input-device

output device

Thanks

responded quickly with:

If there is no monitor or keyboard connected to the server it will

default to using serial port a. Otherwise you need to use eeprom to

set the device (or do it from the ok prompt).

eeprom input-device=ttya

eeprom output-device=ttya

____________________________________________________________-

shutdown the m/c. unplug the keyboard.

when you power cycle the m/c, if the system does not detect the

keyboard, it

automatically sends the signal

to the serial port a. Make sure you have a cross over cable serial

connection and the setup to 9800 8 N 1.
