rdump

2007-12-25 9:24:00

My original question was:

------------------------ INCLUDE -----------------------------

I have 2 machines running SunOS 4.1.4. (Host A, Host B)

Both machines running tcp-wrappers.

When I try to rdump from B to A I get the following message:

-----

mail# rdump 0ucdsf 27000 36000 ns1:/dev/nrst0 /dev/sd0a

DUMP: Date of this level 0 dump: Tue Feb 10 10:16:54 1998

DUMP: Date of last level 0 dump: the epoch

  DUMP: Dumping /dev/rsd0a (/) to /dev/nrst0 on host ns1

DUMP: mapping (Pass I) [regular files]

  DUMP: mapping (Pass II) [directories]

  DUMP: estimated 9896 blocks (4.83MB) on 0.00 tape(s).

DUMP: Protocol to remote tape server botched (in rmtgets).

rdump: Lost connection to remote host.

DUMP: Bad return code from dump: 1

-----

I have fixed the .rhosts file and I allow in.rshd from B to A

through tcp-wrappers program.

Thanks in advance
