Maxtor 92720U8 Hard Disk recognition problem

I have problem in recognizing correct hard disk space under Solaris 2.6
on Ultra SPARC 10 box. When I use "format" command, it shows only 7.47
GB instead of 27.2 GB and even I am not able to format it too.
The disk specification is as follows:
DiamondMax 6800 Ultra DMA 66
Model number: 92720U8
Actual Cyl: 52744
Max. Cyl: 16383
Hds: 16
Sect: 63
Size: 27.2 GB
It was showing 27.2 GB before reinstalling Solaris 2.6. When I use
"format>format" it says."Cannot format this drive. Please use your
Manufacturer supplied formatting utility." Maxtor doesn't give support
for SUN.
Can someone help me resolving this issue?
