Getting the original ethernet address

I sent out the following request:

The general consensus was that the extra network interface cards do

not have their own network interface number, they are expected to use

the system one. About the only thing I can do is scrounge some

ethernet numbers from "known dead" devices and re-use them on our Sun.

I am currently going over our dead machines to see if I can get some

"real" sun numbers to use.

As for the null Xserver stuff - I got a response from the Rick Dipper II

about this. He says that he did not get any workable solutions to

this. A pity because it would be very handy for me.
