Upgraded from 2.5 -> 2.6 CPU panic ensues

Thanks to:

  Michael Wang

  Chris Marble

for their help.

Original problem: system crashes with a cpu panic after upgrading from

2.5 to 2.6 using the "upgrade" rather than doing a fresh install. I

suspected a problem with DiskSuite 4.0

Suggestions:

from Michael Wang:

Since I didn't have the time to experiment, I went back to tape and

restored our 2.5 system from ufsdumps. The system came back up okay

after that. While doing the restore, however, I discovered a loose SCSI

connection between one of the controller cards and its cable. I don't

know if this may have caused the problem...
