Read-Only File System - Move Of Hard Disk Problem

I have done a replica of a hard disk from a Sun E450 machine using the
DD command, and moved the hard disk to another Sun E450 machine and it
works as wanted.
But after a time , I've tried to move the hard disk to a Sun Ultra1
machine , but I am getting a "Read-Only File System" error , I can't
create or edit anything. Is it because of the Hardware specifications
different between the two machines ?
