don't open /dev/fb

When is starting Solaris 8.0 on a intel machine, the process is
interrupted by kdmconfig. I specifie the info needed and then, after the
last F2 command, the machine send me the follow message
Server fatal error
can't open /dev/fb
What is happen?
In /dev, fb has a link to /devices/...
