our growing unix environment requires a solution lets us manage users
across multiple machines.
NIS is prohibited
NIS+ is a possible solution
LDAP/iPlanet server
We also need to syncronise these users and their groups against an NT
PDC (not Win2K). Again, LDAP/iPlanet seems to offer a solution... and
in a previous job I used MS services for unix to sync unix machines,
however, never against a NIS+ master.
We have no in house experience of either solution. Can anyone:-
* Recommend a solution
and / or
* Recommend a good book on the subject (or online docs).
