Ghostview malformed color error

I received many replies which I have tried to answer individually instead of
listing people here, if I missed you I am sorry.
Anyway a simple solution was that I had mismatched versions of Ghostview and
Ghostscript, 2.6.1 and 1.5. When I downloaded GS 2.6.2, GV 1.5 worked ok. I
still get warnings but no errors and things work ok so I shall leave it at that.
