Sun Cluster 2.2 Timeout question

One of our clusters is experiencing problems with our network. Basically, it
seems that the network glitches for about 30 seconds or so and in this time,
the cluster software kicks in and moves one logical host onto it's backup
server. The network then recovers and is back up and running.
It's been suggested by our friends in application support that we might want
to try and increase the timeout period for this failover. I've done some
scratching around in my Course notes but nothing has become apparent. I was
thinking that it must be something to do with pmnd but the only info I can
find on this daemon is that it looks at /etc/pnmconfig which only contains
info on the NAF0 groups.
