You do not have to use Samba to access UNIX drives.
The SUN PCI software will mount regular UNIX directories if you specify the
path correctly. I have done this on several user installation so I do not
have to create a D:/ drive.
Under NT, go to the map drive pulldown and type something like:
//localhost/tmp
This is documented in the SUN PCi software. Works for PCi I and II.

This is the method we are using. We will backup the image occasionally (once a
week) and will do regular incrementals on the user's files.
We will ask the pci users to let us know if they do anything (eg install s/w)
that would change the registry (or other "special" files) so that we can again
backup the image. If they do not and there is a problem we will just have to
reinstall the o/s and other s/w.
