[SUMMARY]: Single User Mode

Thanks to all who responded. Most of you suggested checking the password of root. As it turned out the password file had been corrupted. It was actually just after an upgrade that the corruption occured. I had to reset the roots password and this cleared up the problem. Thanks again

When I boot with boot -s to bring my machine to a single user state , the

machine boots up to the root promt without asking me for the root password.

How do I disable this and instead ask for the root password.
