Trying to connect USB Mouse on Ultra 80

I am trying to connect a USB mouse on a Sun Ultra 80.
I am using a Belkin USB card and a Microsoft mouse.
I see the device in the /devices/pci at 4000/usb..... directory..
It looks like the mouse has been properly configured.
But when I put in the path to the device in the
/usr/openwin/server/etc/OWconfig file, it gives an error while starting
S-windows (Xsun process)....complaining about the USB mouse.
Has anyone been through this problem before?
