Thanks for the responses.

The consensus is wait until Monday, July 19. The new version of memtool (3.7.4)

Hi Sun gurus:

A admin of ours went to a Performance Tuning seminar where the benefits of an

unsupported Sun tool called memtool was lauded. At the same time us admins left

to fight fires were left with a server that was croaking due to a memory leak.

We happened on this utility on our own. It panicked and crashed the server. We

later found from our seminar-bound admin that memtool works great IF you do not

load the latest kernel bundle. We, of course, did. The server is running 2.6

with the latest recommended patches (kernel patch 105181-14). We checked again

with SunSolve and a new kernel patch (105181-15) is available. Reading the

information about this patch found that it fixes a potentially bad memory leak.

We applied this patch and tried memtool. It still crashed the server. The

version of memtool we have is 3.7.3. There is a rumor that a newer version is

supposed to have been released that fixes this panic. Does anyone know where to

find this release?? Help!
