what is best A3500 config for 2 hosts

< I apologize for any duplications for this post >

we have a 2x7 A3500 that was set up in an unorthodox, and not very reliable
config:

1 controller w/2 trays in independent controller mode attached to two
hosts (each hosts see's its own LUN on a pair of half-trays)

1 controller w/5 trays, so a third host sees all 5 full trays

What we need is

2 hosts (NFS servers) connected to half the array capacity, in the most
reliable and redundant configuration. These hosts each have 2 dual-channel
Differential SCSI controllers, so if we could use four SCSI connections to
the two hosts that would distribute I/O better between the A3000 and the
host.

There is no clustering involved.

I don't know if we can do multi-initiator without clustering, so it may
mean spitting the array in half vertically (left side to one host, right
side to the other), but how that would be distributed across the controllers
I don't know.

The Raid Manager version is 6.22, and the arrays are currently not being
used (array is not mounted, LUNS are deleted, but modules are intact).
Attached hosts are E450's running Solaris 8. Contollers are Differential
SCSI, not FC-AL.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. I will summarize.
