Deleting one record from DLT tape

I have a requirement.
* I have taken backup using cpio onto a DLT tape.
* After each project directory tree, there is an EOF mark.
* I can move on to specific project using mt -f <dev> fsf <n>.
* Now I am asked to delete project data for a particular project.
* Is it possible to delete data from <n>th EOF to <n+1>th EOF.
That is the layout will be like
data1 EOF data2 EOF data3 EOF data4 EOF.....
Now can I delete data2 alone from the tape without affecting data3,data4
....
I will summarise.
