Using ufsdump with Sun Storedge DDS3 Autoloader
2007-12-24 20:26:00
I have a Solaris 2.6 system with a Sun Storedge DDS3 DAT Autoloader. When I
run a backup script based on ufsdump it autoloads the next volume fine.
What I then want to do is go back to the start of the first tape and run a
"ufsrestore t" on each file set to establish the validity of the save.
Problem is an "mt rewind" will spool back only to the beginning of the last
tape. I also tried an "mt offline" which just seems to eject the whole lot.
Any advice on controlling this device from a shell script would be much
appreciated.
Thanks,
Lee.
