UUCP Warnings

I originally asked about UUCP warnings :

> We have been unable to contact machine 'east' since you queued

> Attempts will continue for a few more days.

and how to increase the delay at which they are sent.

This turned out to be a case of RTFM when TFI (the fine information) is

hard to find. Even Sun could not come up with an answer. I wonder why I

even bother calling Sun Support before trying sun-managers first...

Anyway, the answer was best expressed by tim@ben.dciem.dnd.ca (Tim Pointing) :

In hindsight, I should have run strings(1) on /usr/lib/uucp/*, which would

have pointed me in the right direction.

Other suggestions were :

* Look for the line "OT3d" in your sendmail.cf file.

* Configure UUCP to poll remote machines on a periodic basis (see file 'Poll')

  in /etc/uucp directory.
