Newbie: OpenLDAP question

I am looking into a way of providing aliases, plus the members of
group aliases if possible, to netscape messenger using solaris 8. I
think that OpenLDAP is the only tool that can provide this. I have tried
and tried to configure OpenLDAP to work with Netscape messenger but to
no avail. Does anyone out there have a configuration that works on
solaris, including schemas, or can someone point me to a website that
discusses doing this without possibly having to setup OpenLDAP for the
other features it has ?
