Odd NFS behavior noticed with SE

Hey all,
I have a very strange NFS problem happening. Between 2 of my sites
(different locations), NFS is extremely slow. Here's the specs on the
servers:

Local NFS server
SS/20, 512 MB ram, 100MBPS NIC, using Disksuite to have a RAID spread across
2xUltra/Wide/Diff controllers. Local NFS access is pretty speedy, disk
speeds are excellent.

Remote NFS client
(2 servers have this behavior, both are the same H/W):
Ultra1, 256MB ram, 100MBPS NIC

(All servers sun Solaris 8 with the latest patches added)

Other remote clients get an OK performance from NFS (the link speed from
remote to local is 2x4MB lines), and the network traffic is medium.
However, a 100mb file transfer takes up to 1 hour! As well, I was running
zoom.se (from the SE toolkit) on the local and remote servers. Both client &
server showed low network usage, and minimal NFS activity. I am puzzled: why
would just these 2 servers exhibit this behavior? Where else can I look to
see what's going on?

Cheers,
Greg Ulyatt
