Two networks on one nic

We have a SunBlade running Solaris 8 and one Ultra 1 with Solaris 2.5.1
Is there a way so I can configure two networks on just one nic?
I've read that I just must add the new host ip & name to /etc/hosts, the
new netmask to /etc/netmasks and finally just have to add a file named
"hostname.hme0:1" with the new hostname...
I'm right? Is there any reference on the web about this?
Any help would be appreciated..
