Static hostname on DHCP in Solaris 10 x86 build 58

I'm trying to get a Solaris 10_58 x86 machine to retain a static
hostname whilst at the same time picking up everything else from a DHCP
server. I do not have control of the DHCP server. I have followed the
instructions on docs.sun.com:

but they have not worked. any suggestions?
