Se_hdlc driver error : clone device must be attached before use!

Hi Gurus,
i have this error on a Sun box....no clue to what is causing
this.

# uname -a
SunOS vus511 5.8 Generic_108528-24 sun4u sparc SUNW,Ultra-4
